Welcome to Forest Apiaries

We are a small 100- 200 hive apiary with bees kept in diverse settings spread across wild places in the northern tip of the lower penninsula of Michigan, Emmet, Cheboygan and Presque Isle counties.

We raise our own queens and bees working toward colonies that will be locally adapted to our plants and seasons and resistiant to pests and diseases without using chemical treatments.

Our Services

Natural honey, bees, and hands-on beekeeping classes.

Pure Honey

Our honey is raw and stored in a way to preserve it's healthful qualities. Most years Basswood and Star Thistle dominate the nectar the bees collect.

Bee Sales

We sell nucleus colonies in May and June. Our bees are bred by us with the goal of having healthy bees without chemical treatments

Beekeeping Classes

We hold outdoor classes at our Alanson apiary and we partner with North Central Michigan College in Petoskey who host our classes.

Our Home

Nestled deep in untouched forests, our apiary thrives where bees gather pure nectar from the bounty of wild places.
