Assessing and feeding the bees

I have been going through all of my hives over the past week. Counting the survivors, and assessing them for splits next month. It's been a long time since I needed snowshoes to go through the hives at the end of March. The trees are beginning to bud out. We should have some pollen and nectar in the next week or two. Hopefully, it will be warm enough for the bees to fly and take advantage of the resources.
