Our Nuc Availability

Orders for Nucs Are Taken All Year

We maintain around 100-150 colonies of bees for nuc sales. We can only take orders for 50-75 nucs before We have to wait and see how many actual nucs can be made after the winter. This usually happens mid-May.

We typically sell out of pre-ordered nucs in February. Once splits are made, we usually have a second sale in mid-May, for extras. If you are interested in a nuc, check back mid-May to see what we have available. Nucs can be reserved for next season, all year long. Call or email to reserve yours.

Local Bees Bred To Be Treatment Free

As one of the few local apiaries that sell local nucs with locally made queens, the demand for these bees are very high. Our bees have been bred here since 2019 to be winter hardy, healthy and to resist parasites (varroa) which adds to the demand.

Why The Late Pick Up Dates

We start queen rearing as soon as the bees and weather allow, usually early May. That process takes about a month by the time we introduce new queens to splits and check the queens to make sure they are laying well before nucs are sold.

We do sell nucs available earlier using purebred Russian Queens from Coy apiary.
